With the latest announcement by the professional online networking service LinkedIn followed suit Google, Microsoft and Facebook to provide  integrate with Twitter.

Looks like entire world wants to be twitter friends and be part of new age microblogging phenomenon.

Things apart, What does this mean for the new age Digital Marketing?

It opens up whole new set of avenues for Digital Marketing which is left completely untrapped.

Here is a classical scenario where Digital Marketing would reap heavy benefits on Twitter Way

A Global Retail Giant has a new promotion offer running in its stores and with just a twitter update all the followers of it are now aware of the promotion, without even waiting for some one to browse or personally visit the site which in turn would lead to more awareness to the customer and hola its free.To take it to the further level if the customer wishes to know updates on his favourite product like jewellery, perfumes it would be a huge marketing advantage.

With the number of twitter users growing exponentially this is something to look upon. Just to have a look at figures the number of Twitter users were 6 million in 2008 and 18 million users in 2009 and an expected 26 million users in 2009 the rise is phenomenal

With Social Networking Sites like Facebook, Orkut, Linked In also boarding the Tweet Flight even a fraction of Facebook users (who counts more than 250 million active users),Orkut Users(100million active users) and 10 million users of LinkedIn would be a huge market to tap in.

The potential benefits are clearly visible.

Another factor  here is the Search Engine Traffic as a result of Google and Microsoft Bing providing integration to Twitter we are looking at new ways of Search Engine Marketing.

I remember the famous  Captcha “Veni Vidi Vici” which aptly suits Twitter . “It Came It Saw and Undoubtedly its going to Capture”

I was really shocked and it was then I spoke to her father and asked him “Mait,your kid is injured but you still let her play and you must be really sad to know that ur kid is injured but still u let her play how could you do that  ” and then he replied to me ” Look Mait, You are looking at the pain she might be currently facing but i am looking at how she is enjoying herself which she will not do in couple of days/weeks” and he continued “Angella my daughter is suffering from blood cancer and she is not going to stay alive for a long time and he wants her to enjoy her remaining life to her fullest and thats where the real happiness of Angella and my family lies”.

Yesterday when i met her father at a market in London  and got to know that Angella has left all of us . I just told him all of us would miss Angella and she would be with all of us for ever

From now onwards i have decided to enjoy each and every moment of life.

In this Cyber World, where success is entirely not dependent on your work but only dependent on personal relationships. Believe me this happens , may be tough for every one to admit in public.  Its happening to me till date, a few folks who never showed gratitude for what i have done to them are still haunting me with their unforgiving egoistic attitude of their thinking as if they can still boss me around. I hate to start my week facing these annoying jerks , but what to do i have to continue but that doesnt stop me to take the bull by the horns which has become a monotonic routine for me over the last 4.5 years  and now i have decide d to finally say  I had Enough of It and I need to make a move ahead in life.

A Decision which I am going to stick and work for it for the next year to reap its results.

When this idea initially sprung up in my mind some years back I was thinking that Coding is an Art and very few skilled persons can do it. I had a passion in me in pursuing this art and I did that, took the most common way of pursuing this art with thousands of my friends enrolled for Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from one of the most reputed colleges in India.

While Programming /Coding infusciated enthusiasm in me whilst most other courses in my engineering did not , and I did continue to pursue my art and  like thousands of my other friends completed my engineering.

In my last year of engineering attended just two campus interviews, amongst which the first one was  one was a big MNC and when the interviewers from the company interviewed and the experience i learnt from it made me believe that coding is an art only few can achieve and unfortunately I couldn’t get selected but i am happy that i didn’t get because it now turned out to be amidst one of the most frivolous scandals in Corporate India Economy.

Moved ahead the next interview and i got selected from a small but emerging company. The most interesting thing in an  interview ,   the guy who conducted my technical interview showed off as if he was a technical genius and an adept master of the art which he wasn’t and it didn’t take me much time that he is not and the happiest part was i got to pursue the art my intrest and passion Coding.

While other friends of mine who joined other big MNC with me didnt had the liberty of choosing and got varied forms of art in this Industry jargons and were put in midnight burnout jobs to testing to deployment and were forced to do stuff which they didnt wanted and ofcourse they didnt have many options to do so as they were sure of not getting the heavy pay packets while I had the liberty of pursuing the art which i wanted to and also use the tool which i wanted to  but with a smaller and thinner wallet.

Here starts the real journey, started of with real enthusiasm which slowly faded away but yes still had the satisfaction of pursuing the art.

It continued like this for sometime i was learning the art and practical skills at it but soon found to realise that the art was getting corrupted there was no respect for the skill and art and the pursuers of the art. I made a few friends and some of them where just like me who had the passion for the art while some where doing it just for the sake of doing it. I realised that the corruption of the art has started. 

The fat guy who was managing us is the worst manager or should i say Damager and was always bent upon believing and doing something which wasnt related to the art and then there was this lead who we hardly saw moving from his seat. I realised things were not going proper and the exploitation was clearly visible. While we were sweating hard to learn the tricks and trade of the art others were exploiting us by deeming to say the work we have done as theirs and showing off to the fat guy shark and robotic lead. 

At this stage i wanted people to encourage me in my pursuit of the art and not discourage me.

I decided to move on and joined the crown jewel of IT in India. 

It Started of with a blunt shock with a bugger doubting my skills and art capabilities had  a point to prove and I did proved it and must say it got the best out of me. As days passed by , these kind of issues kept on coming  instead of concentrating on the art i was forced to concentrate on morons around me who would always look for opportunities to pounce on you like a tiger waiting for a wounded deer.

I moved on and concentrated on the art but to my awe shock people no longer consider this as an art and have forgot that it takes certain skill to keep this art sustained. Just because of the cult people working with me who are’nt completely aware of the art and do blunders which shouldnt be and the outcome do the same thing in wrong way all day all night long.

At this moment it doesnt seems as though this art is going to vanish away in near future but as all good things even this thing has started to fade away.In this industry where more or less were treated as bonded labour or machines and no wonder why this industry is the only industry in this world without any employee/labour organization which is quite unheard of any other industry

Who is to blame for this ??? There is no respect for the skill . What to do to keep this pursuit of art alive????

Servlet Mappings in Web.xml do not accept regular expressions.

SRV.11.2 Specification of Mappings

In theWeb application deployment descriptor, the following syntax is used to define mappings:

* A string beginning with a / character and ending with a /* suffix is used for path mapping.
* A string beginning with a *. prefix is used as an extension mapping.
* A string containing only the / character indicates the “default” servlet of the application. In this case the servlet path is the request URI minus the context path and the path info is null.
* All other strings are used for exact matches only.

The pattern /* will force everything through your servlet.
The pattern / will make your servlet the default servlet for the app, meaning it will pick up every pattern that doesn’t have another exact match.

What surprises me is the fact that after so many days still Servlets dont accept Regular Expressions in URL Mappings whiles most other tools accept Regular Expressions
